Educating others in the way of historic preservation is a passion for Vintage Window Restoration. Whether it is a two week field school or a one hour classroom presentation, we seek out opportunities to share knowledge with homeowners, government personnel, contractors, realtors, students and anyone else that has an interest in the craft.
Chris Gustafson, owner of Vintage Window Restoration, loves to meet organizations and communities across the Pacific Northwest to share his knowledge and experiences from the actual trade to the business aspect of historic preservation. Chris is always continuing his education in the trades and every aspect of managing a growing business. Depending on who and what the organization wants him to cover, the presentation can be tailored to their needs. Chris and his team are able to meet groups at their locations or have them visit their facility to see the live operation.
Our presentations have covered from Oregon Heritage Conferences on Business Success in Embracing Heritage to Clatsop Community College’s numerous lectures on “Preservation in the Trenches”, preparing outgoing students in the workforce , and “Life, a Pane in the Sash” for a lighthearted talk on operating a business in the preservation trades, and numerous lectures and conversations during our numerous educational workshops.
Contact Chris at Vintage Window Restoration if you wish to have him present his knowledge and experience in the historic preservation trades. We also offer single to multi-day window workshops. Our business covers every aspect of wood window restoration from preservation, restoration, and reproductions, including facade work and wood window accessories.
